Three BIG facts about our One Big speakers: Tori James
With our One Big Conference just weeks away we wanted to introduce you to our second keynote speaker Tori James.
Tori is a record-breaking adventurer who has taken on some of the most extreme challenges on our planet.
Here’s three BIG things to know about Tori before we welcome her to our conference…
She's climbed Mount Everest
Tori was the first Welsh woman to climb Mount Everest - and she did it at the age of just 25! Her teammate Omar Samra became the first Egyptian to do so.
She is the star of the BBC documentary On Top of the World, which follows her expedition, and the author of Peak Performance, which describes her climb to the summit.
She skied to the Magnetic North Pole
Tori was a member of the first all-female team to ski to the Magnetic North Pole in a 360-mile polar challenge.
That's not all …
Tori has also cycled the length of New Zealand, a total of 2400km, and holds the record for the longest open sea kayak crossing in UK waters. She achieved this when the Beeline Britain team became the first to travel in a straight line from Land's End to John O'Groats.
