Community Housing Cymru statement: Time to Talk Public Health survey results
Public Health Wales has published its latest Time to Talk Public Health survey which reveals that 52% of respondents are aware of the link between good housing and health.
It also shows that 71% believe the quality of their home is good, while 81% feel their home is secure. Despite this, just 40% feel their home is affordable, while 52% feel it is sustainable.
Our policy and external affairs manager Sarah Scotcher gives her view on the latest survey results:
"Research has shown time and time again that safe, warm, and affordable homes is essential to supporting heath and wellbeing - which is why housing associations in Wales are focussed on supporting the people that live in their homes to live well.
"We're pleased to see that those responding to the Time to Talk Public Health survey felt that the quality, functionality, and security of their private, rented and social homes is of a good standard.
"However it's clear that more can be done to support sustainability, improve affordability, and enhance local transport links and services."
