Head of policy and external affairs (maternity cover 10- 12 months)

Community Housing Cymru (CHC) is the membership body for housing associations in Wales. We represent 34 non-profit organisations who provide social housing and related services in communities across the country.

Community Housing Cymru is looking for a passionate head of policy and external affairs (maternity cover) to lead our high profile campaign, influencing and policy work, and developing and maintaining key relationships with senior partners.

We're looking for someone with:

  • At least five years working in a policy development or political influencing role;
  • Excellent influencing skills;
  • A strong understanding and/or experience of working with Welsh Government and/or local government;
  • A strong understanding and experience of working with and influencing members of the Senedd and/or members of Parliament;
  • Experience and a track record of liaising with ministers, senior civil servants and those with substantial influence at a national level;
  • Experience of working in a pressurised environment.
