Health and housing: Linking evidence, policy and practice

A recent good practice guide on housing and health highlighted the lack of synthesis between evidence, policy, and practice in relation to the impact of housing on all aspects of health in Wales. There is also scarce empirical evidence exploring the impact of housing on mental health and wellbeing. To address these issues, the University of South Wales (USW) recently established a research group focused on understanding the impact housing on health, with an initial aim of setting overarching priority research areas in collaboration with different stakeholders across Wales, including housing associations, health boards and Public Health Wales.

In this spotlight session, Dr Dan Bowers, Head of Psychology at USW, will share the outcomes of this process so far and outline what's next.
